Somehow I missed this one. This scavenger hunt was created as a fundraiser for the Junior League of San Diego (who happen to do great work with the Girl Scouts). Have a blast while doing good. This is my kind of event.
Operation City Hunt @ Embarcadero Maria North Park

10am-3pm ($50 plus raise an additional $50)
Adult only event
"This fun filled day begins with a scavenger hunt race throughout downtown San Diego. On the day of the event, teams will have to solve clues to find local San Diego businesses and places of interest. Once each location is discovered participants will be asked to perform a fun activity, often supporting the business which has partnered with the Junior League of San Diego."
There is a post race party at The Minus One Lounge at The Keating Hotel. Race participants do get a "thank you for participating" drink at the party (no kidding, that is what they call it).

This was such a fun event last year that the Junior League is doing it again!
The 2010 date is March 6. More info will be available at www.jlsd.org within a month of the event. See you there!
